It is not recommended to install fabric coverings in the bathroom. Because the fabric absorbs moisture, you risk spending a lot of money on upgrades. This option does not have the main advantage - it does not affect the size of the room in any way. A film stretch ceiling in a bathroom has no disadvantages. Except, perhaps, for one thing: to install the film, it needs to be heated with a heat gun, which entails additional costs. But, if you compare the amount of money for the constant updating of other types of coating, it becomes clear that the costs associated with installing the film are not very large. The bathroom performs certain functions associated with temperature fluctuations and increased humidity, which does not affect the PVC stretch ceiling.

Installation nuances

A suspended ceiling is installed in the bathroom in the same way as in other rooms. The installation process is quite simple:

• clean the surface of the ceiling and walls from dust;
• mark the location of the frame around the perimeter, usually the canvas is placed four to six centimeters below the main surface;
• fix the profiles for fastening along the marking line;
• secure the corners of the film with special fasteners;
• mark the locations of the lamps;
• install wiring for lighting;
• install bases for mounting lamps;
• start fixing the canvas from the middle of the wall, heading towards the corners;
• It is better to fill the canvas with a special spatula;
• The film must be attached after it has been heated;
• place special rings - bases - in the places where the lamps are installed;
• connect the lamps to the wiring;
• It is better to install the structure before treating the walls;
• It is better to choose special light bulbs that do not heat up;
• After complete installation, wipe the canvas with a light soap solution.

But in the bathroom, it is advisable to install a PVC stretch ceiling and a fabric stretch ceiling after laying the tiles on the walls. It is better to attach the profile to the finished wall.

Caring for the canvas

Caring for a suspended film ceiling is easy. It will be enough to wipe it with soapy water. To enhance shine, you can use glass cleaner. If a stain does appear on the film, it can be removed with ammonia. If you decide to change the color of the canvas, you won’t be able to paint it. You will need to buy a new one. The paint does not adhere to the film.
